The Women’s Centre of Calgary is offering FREE afterschool programs for grades 5 to 9.  The Girls Programs provides girls, Two Spirit, trans, and non-binary children and youth a safe space to share their knowledge of leadership, activism, and community building. We facilitate various activities that include crafts, discussions, and most importantly, youth-led sessions where youth practice their leadership skills. Participants consistently tell us that our programs are fun and help them feel more confident and connected. Discussions and activities are led, through a gender specific lens, on topics youth are interested in.

The programs are free, and the Women Centre will provide all craft supplies for the online program. For in-person program, we will provide light snacks. Bus tickets will be available for participants to attend program as needed. 

The weekly afterschool programs will be taking place at the Women Centre (39 4th ST NE Calgary AB T2E 3R6) or Zoom (online meeting link will be provided)

Girl Power (grades 5-6) Wednesdays 4PM to 6PM (starts January 18th, 2023)

Girl Force Online (grades 7-9) Tuesdays 6PM to 7:30PM (starts January 17th, 2023)

Girl Force (grades 7-9) Thursdays 4:30PM-6:30PM (starts February 2nd, 2023)
